cell phone addiction control your addictive habbit to cell phone
Cell phone is quite a device that has many advantages, so helpful and entertaining, but of course overusing it is unhealthy. Many of us have the problem of being addicted to their cell phones. But we should try to take charge of our cell phone habits.
Here are some ways to control your cell phone addiction:
• When you are having a social gathering with friends or family, deal with your phone as if it’s a cigarette, if you want to check it, do it outside.
• When you are out hanging out with friends, put your phone away, and put it on the silent mode.
• If you are on a date with someone and you see them do something with their cell phone that seems imprudent, note it and make sure not to do that yourself.
• Don’t ever check your phone when you are in a meeting. If it took the meeting too long to finish and you can’t help it but check your phone, excuse yourself to the bathroom and check it there. If the meeting was a short one, be patient and wait until it’s over.
• If you are out for a walk in the park, do not take your phone with you. You can leave in the car or maybe you’d better just leave it at home.
• Do not talk on the phone in inappropriate places like elevator, restaurant, library, etc. wait until you are in an appropriate area.
• When you are out in a café or restaurant, don’t put your phone in front of you, just put it aside in your bag or purse.
• When you are with your friends, family, and especially among children, do not check your phone. It makes them feel they are important to you, as they are.
• When you are waiting for a very important call, let your company know in advance that you are. So, when the call comes, you excuse yourself and make the call short.
• When you are in a diner or a café waiting for other people and you’re alone, go for texting rather than calling.• Do not text while driving. Actually, many of us text while driving and it annoys us, but we don’t care that much to admit. It really makes you distracted, and it’s very risky. If you have to call someone, use the hands free.
• If you are a parent, try to always remember that your children will learn from what you are doing, not saying, so make sure to make a good example for them in the phone usage part.
• Make a timer for yourself considering checking your phone, and you don’t have to start with a long time like an hour, you can start with half an hour in the beginning. Step by step and you will get there
• When you are going to bed, don’t take your phone with you, put it somewhere on a shelf that is not easy to reach. It even helps in getting up on time, as it will make you get out bed to turn of the alarm, which is a bonus!
