Of course there are many steps we can follow to avoid being addicted to it.
Get busy! Find yourself an activity to fill you free time with. You can go to events, you can do a hobby of yours, whether it’s drawing, reading, or playing music maybe. Just make sure to make your day full. This will totally help you avoid this addiction as you won’t find much time to spend on your phone.
If you are a student, give your cell phone to your parents when you have some studying. In vacations as well, giving up your phone helps you keep your mind free of any stress or distractions.
Tell your friends about it, so that they help you keep going, and they will lessen their calls and texts.
Do not download many apps on your phone, because it will make tempted to check your phone constantly.
While driving, put your phone on silent mode. This way you help yourself avoid this addiction, and you are in the safe side, because texting or calling while driving is so dangerous and it can cause fatal accidents. One can’t focus on two functions at the same time.
